Couples.

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

I love this poster by Phill Clatworthy. Being part of a couple myself, I'm making fun of myself by posting this, but it made me laugh! I hope it makes you chuckle...

Oh Tartelette, you are cruel.

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Lella and I have agreed to start a detox this week, but how can I even think about a detox when all I want to do is bake? My mouth is watering at the sight of the delicious looking 'Double Chocolate and Pear Cakes' I came across on one of my newest blog crushes, Tartelette. Do your self a favour and take a look – you will be overcome with desire.

Be inspired.

It's Friday and I wanted to share this photo of one of my all time favorite unicorns - Henry Cavill. Rachelle, this one's for you x

House Industries.

Thursday, September 24, 2009

It may be a little early for some, but I have started thinking about Christmas gifts and think I may just do a bit of shopping on the House Industries website. They have something for everyone –homewares, toys, posters, t-shirts and more. I'm totally in love with the Neutraface Slab Blocks and think they would be perfect for my son (every boy should learn to appreciate good typography at a young age). Be sure to visit House Industries when thinking about gifts this year!

Skirts.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

I'm a skirt kind of girl, and with Summer fast approaching it's time to refresh my wardrobe. Here is what Christian Dior's 'The Little Dictionary of Fashion' says about skirts:
There are few woman who can wear every type of skirt. Only those who have a slim waistline and no hips. The rest of you have to choose which suits you best – and when you have found the right type of skirt, keep to it.
The simpler your skirt, the better fit it must be. A slim skirt must never be so straight that you cannot move in it – that is ridiculous. Like everything in fashion your clothes must always give you the feeling that they are easy to wear.
Full skirts, too, need to be well cut so that there is no bunchiness round the waist; for this reason a flared or pleated skirt is usually more flattering than a gathered one.

It's ok.

Mad girl's love song.

Friday, September 18, 2009

"I Fancied you’d return the way you said, but I grow old and I forget your name. (I think I made you up inside my head.) I should have loved a thunderbird instead; At least when spring comes they roar back again. I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead. (I think I made you up inside my head.)"

Natasha Poly.

Monday, September 14, 2009

Natasha Poly is one of my favourite models. She's been on the cover of parisian VOGUE twice consecutively which is absolutely unheard of and has modeled for some exceptional brands over the years including Alexander McQueen, Sonia Rykiel, Jil Sander, Blumarine and Balmain, to name a few. I think she's simply stunning.

I wanna hold you now." - David Gray

Woods & Weather.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Every now and then I come across a designer that totally blows my mind, Erik of Woods & Weather is one of them. His work is creative, fresh and beautiful. I love the designs he did for the AIGA Minnesota's 2008 Design Camp, and the fact it was letterpressed by Studio On Fire.

Sitting on the roof.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

When I was younger (I'm talking early teens) and needed to get away I would climb onto the shed roof to think. It wasn't too high, the view was awesome and best of all – no one really tried to follow me up there (I think Lella and Anooke tried but got stuck half way up the ladder, a great story for another day). Anyway, this morning I'm wishing I had a shed roof to sit on. I just want to sit somewhere quiet, away from things and ponder my next move.

Summer accessories.

Saturday, September 5, 2009

I'm getting excited about our approaching Summer. I can't wait until it's warm enough to wear little sun dresses and sandals, with gelato coloured accessories and sunglasses.
