Some people have a thing for abandoned puppies, I, on the other hand, have a thing for abandoned or run down houses. Something about them just makes you want to love them and replace their smashed windows and polish their floor boards and put fresh flowers on the hall table. Photographer Kevin Bauman has the same fascination with abandoned houses I do and in the late 90's began documenting the run down mansions around detroit.
